Painting Process

​

Isaac will currently work on six to eight paintings at a time on average.

​

The average painting will take about a year and a half until completion.

​

Painted in acrylics alone but is now making a gradual transition to more oil painting with oil over acrylics in his current painting process.

​

Isaac likes to listen to audiobooks, seminars and other classes during his painting periods with occasional music.

​

Acrylic paintings are done with the majority of paints used being Chromacolour UK brand paints, Golden and Liquitex paints. 

​

Oil paintings are done with Utrecht, Gamblin and Rembrandt brand oil

paints.

​

Majority of brushes used are Leow Cornell, Utrecht, and Rosemary and Co brushes.

​

Paintings are currently painted on untempered masonite panels.

​

Paints from imagination, experience and reference photos/ material.

​

Paints fluently both right and left handed.

​

Lifestyle

​

Enjoys horseback riding, hiking, strength training, swimming, yoga, landscaping, carpentry and ranchwork.

​

Enjoys building furniture and art equipment

​

Made his own sit/stand artist taboret and easel stands out of pocket hole joinery, welding and woodwork.

Built several weight equipment attachments from scratch through welding, woodwork and upholstery

​

Enjoys reading through traditional books, audiobooks, courses and seminars.

​

Enjoys reading about anything that can help become more well rounded at his artistic endeavors.

 

Making antler replicas occasionally as a tool to help understand his subjects is something Isaac enjoys doing from time to time.
